Biography
I graduated from UCSB in 2020 with a bachelors of science in Psychological and Brain Sciences and I am very excited to now be returning for my PhD. In my off-time when I am not constantly baffled by the brain, I enjoy painting, weightlifting, and BBQing.
Research
My current projects are in brain-body synchrony: the manner in which the rhythms in the gut, heart, and brain couple to support healthy, neurotypical cognition. On the other side of the coin, I'm also interested in how these synchronous relationships are disrupted in clinical conditions. There is potential in piloting treatments targeting these neuroanatomical substrates and in understanding how the distributed nervous system merges to form the complex and unified consciousness that we enjoy.
