Biography

Nafia received her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA. At UCLA, she worked as a Research Assistant in the LCD Lab studying how children come to understand the “opposite” relation. Afterwards, she served as a Joint Lab Manager for the LCD Lab and UC DREAMS at UC Berkeley working on projects examining how language shapes children’s thinking about others and how children form biases based on who is represented or not represented in media. She is broadly interested in how infants and children understand and form beliefs about their social world, as well as how their experiences and the people around them influence their thoughts and behaviors. Nafia is now the Joint Lab Manager of Dr. Zoe Liberman’s Child Studies Lab and Dr. Brandon Woo’s FOLK Lab here at UC Santa Barbara.
