Biography

John (Jeong Woo) Kim earned his B.A. in Psychology from Yonsei University in 2020 and his M.A. in Psychology from Yonsei University in 2023. He began his Ph.D. in Psychology at Oklahoma State University in 2023 and transferred to UC Santa Barbara in 2025 to continue his research in evolutionary psychology, with a focus on human mating. Outside of academia, he enjoys playing video games and listening to music.

Research

My interest lies at the intersection of evolutionary psychology and computational modeling, with a focus on human mating. I am particularly interested in understanding the decision processes underlying mate search, entry into committed relationships, and dissolution of such relationships.
