Biography
Abigail Jacobs is a Junior Specialist working with Dr. Emily Jacobs and Dr. Mary Hegarty on a multisite, multidisciplinary project investigating how sex hormones influence cognition and brain structure and function across the lifespan. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2026 with a B.S. in Psychological & Brain Sciences and a minor in Applied Psychology. As an undergraduate, she conducted research in Dr. Barry Giesbrecht’s Attention Lab, where her honors thesis used immersive technology to study naturalistic attention and action. Her research interests center on the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying behavior, with a particular interest in translational approaches linking neuroscience and physiology to real-world cognition. She plans to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
