PBS assistant professor Michael Beyeler has received the prestigious 2024-2025 Harold J. Plous Award, which is presented annually to an Assistant Professor from the College of Letters and Science for outstanding performance and promise, as measured by creative activities and contributions to the intellectual life of the UCSB community. Michael’s research examines questions at the intersection of neuroscience, computer science, and human-computer interaction that will enable the development of a bionic eye capable of restoring high-quality vision to people who are blind.
