PBS Faculty Emily Jacobs Named Top 10 Scientist To Watch

October 17, 2022

Associate Professor Emily Jacobs was named a Top 10 Scientist to Watch by Science News, in a list featuring early- and mid-career scientists who stand out for their curiosity and drive to solve some of the world’s biggest problems.

Dr. Jacobs' research tackles one of those problems: understanding how the brain, an endocrine organ, undergoes changes as a function of the action of hormones. To do so, her laboratory embraces a multimodal approach–including brain imaging, endocrine, and computational approaches–in studies of midlife and menopause, pharmacological studies of gonadal hormone suppression, as well as dense-sampling studies across the menstrual cycle and pregnancy.

Nominations for this prestigious list came from individuals identified by Nobel laureates, members of the National Academy of Sciences, prior SN 10 scientists, as well as the wider public. Congratulations, Prof. Jacobs!
