Biography

Bailey is a first year PhD student working with Dr. Zoe Liberman. She received her B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Florida State University and her M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from Vanderbilt University. During her time at Vanderbilt, she worked in Dr. Meg Saylor's Language Development Lab where she conducted research investigating the role of children’s domain expertise in their question-asking behaviors. Additionally, she worked with Dr. Kimmy Marble and Dr. Amy Booth in the Child Studies Group to maintain a strong working relationship between research labs on Vanderbilt's campus and the greater Nashville community.

Research

Bailey's research broadly aims to understand children's question-asking behaviors and the mechanisms which underlie them. Currently, she is approaching these ideas from a social perspective, investigating how children evaluate different types of questions and how these evaluations are integrated into their judgments of others.
