Research
Neil is a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Scott Grafton. His research primarily focuses on the neural foundation of expertise, and the relationship between decision-making and stress. Neil received a BA (Psych) from University College Dublin in 2007, before completing an MSc in Applied Psychology in Trinity College Dublin in 2009. He received a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2015 from a joint programme between the University of Bologna, Italy, and Bangor University, UK; his thesis was on the residual function, spontaneous reorganization and treatment plasticity in homonymous visual field defects. Until 2017 he worked as a postdoc at the University of Freiburg, Germany, researching behavioral and neural variability in child and adolescent psychiatric conditions.
