2025 Transfer Orientation

Our team knows transferring can feel like jumping straight into the deep end of a very fascinating, neuron-packed pool… SO please read on below to help us help you prepare to flourish!☀️
We really need your help to accomplish a shared goal of helping to ease your journey to UCSB! Below, you'll notice the following required materials:
1.) Students must fill out our Incoming Transfer Google Form by the deadline of Friday, July 11th 2025 (regardless of orientation attendance) to enable us to have your coursework evaluated by other departments at UCSB to determine whether you’ve earned acceptable credit for the pre major / major requirements at UCSB. This enables us to create mock course schedules and otherwise will enable us to proactively begin to help you as you set yourself up to succeed (and ensure that your course registration is less daunting and it goes as seamlessly as possible)!
2.) Comprehensive Transfer Guide from PBS advising that covers everything you will need to know before diving into the UCSB pool – from your major credits, to course options, to what is a “pre major”? (hint: you!), to mandatory courses / grades needed to earn your full major status in PBS, to what is a PSY 110+ course and when / how can students add them?, to how to contact PBS advising, and everything in between!!
3.) Please make sure to carefully view each of the four module videos below!
Our team unfortunately can’t offer one-on-one meetings with students because our transfer cohorts are massive (truly, you’re part of an elite, mighty wave! 🌊). We strongly suggest viewing all links and attending a session — we promise that it’s packed with helpful info, and maybe a few hahas. Can’t wait to meet y'all! 🥰
Reminder: All new transfers must submit our Incoming Transfer Google Form by the deadline of Friday, July 11th, 2025. Please also note that incoming transfers who are planning on NOT attending would still be required to submit that form by our form deadline on Friday, July 11th and look out for emails from PBS advising!
Before attending orientation (or before your given pass time window for Fall 2025 course registration if you are not attending), we recommend that you carefully watch the modules below and come prepared with questions. We will NOT spend time going over the information conveyed in modules!
