PBS Professor David Sherman organizes conference on climate science solutions
International news over the past several years has reminded us of the importance of identifying solutions to mitigate the negative impacts that climate change will have on society. While much of this effort has sought to identify technical strategies to reduce carbon impact or reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, according to PBS Professor David Sherman, it is additionally important to take a social science perspective to this problem. To this end, Dr. Sherman worked with Drs. Sarah Anderson from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UCSB and Leaf Van Boven from the University of Colorado at Boulder to co-organize the UC Santa Barbara Conference on Social Science and Climate Solutions, held on Monday, Oct 11 at UCSB. The conference featured talks from the organizers and others, along with creative works helping to communicate the impact of climate change.
