Functional Vision in Macular Degeneration

Individuals with macular degeneration typically lose vision in the central region of one or both eyes. This talk will describe the functional consequences of the pattern of overlap of regions of vision loss in the two eyes. Overlapping regions result in central field loss that impact acuity and eye movements, whereas non-overlapping regions impact stereopsis, despite intact visual fields.
