Biography
Danny received his B.S. in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2021 where he worked with Dr. Thomas Sprague and Dr. Ikuko Smith. He then worked at a local biotech company to develop a diagnostic assay for multiple pathogens, such as COVID-19 and flu. When not doing research, he loves surfing and reading books in a nice local coffee shop.
Research
I'm primarily interested in understanding the basic mechanism of how sensory stimuli such as vision and proprioception are represented in the brain. The insight gained from such a mechanism provides a more comprehensive understanding of information and helps to build more effective computational models. I'm also interested in learning how to regenerate the brain signals to a more extensive form to help people in a vegetative state share their consciousness.
