Biography
Madhuri received her B.S. from Fordham University in 2018, with a double major in Psychology and Economics. Before joining UCSB’s PhD program in 2020, she worked as a Lab Manager in the Social & Affective Neuroscience Lab at Rutgers University studying value-based decision-making in social and non-social contexts. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and raising her cat to think he’s a dog.
Research
My research focus is on understanding the role of social emotions, like empathy and guilt, within moral decision-making and judgement. I'm particularly interested in how this interaction may be influenced by different contextual factors such as socioeconomic status and culture.
