PBS Professor Heejung Kim has received the 2023 Outstanding Contributions to Cultural Psychology Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Society. This award was established to recognize a scholar (or group of scholars) whose work has added substantially to the body of knowledge in cultural psychology and whose sustained contributions in research, teaching, and/or service have significantly advanced the field. Dr. Kim's UCSB Cultural Psychology Lab examines how culture shapes psychological functioning across a variety of domains, including interpersonal communication, decision making, religion, biology, and acculturation. Dr Kim will receive her award and give an award address at the 2023 SPSP Advances in Cultural Psychology preconference in Atlanta, Georgia on February 23, 2023.
