Biography
Jordan completed his B.S. in Neuroscience at the University of Iowa in 2023, graduating with university honors. During this time, he was a part of Dr. Jason Radley's lab investigating stress neurobiological circuits in rodent models. After graduating, he completed a two-year postbacc in Dr. Dorit Kliemann's Social Cognitive Neuroscience lab, where he learned neuroimaging and coding methods, particularly for research in lesion and Autistic participants. He is now a graduate student in Dr. Rene Weber's Media Neuroscience Lab.
Research
My research interests center around predatory video game systems in a neurobehavioral context —both how they encourage addictive behaviors and how certain personalities are drawn to them. These systems can include gambling 'loot box' mechanics, time-gated rewards, engagement reinforcement schedules, and more. My goals are to investigate these in a naturalistic, human context using neuroimaging methods such as functional magnetic resonance imagining (fMRI) within the Media Neuroscience Lab at UCSB.
