Psi Chi & SUP Celebrated 40 Years at UCSB

May 6, 2019

Psi Chi and Society of Undergraduate Psychologists members packed Moshe Alumni House for their annual banquet Tuesday night.  Psi Chi celebrated 40 years at UCSB with Dr. Bob Sherman, who served as the first faculty advisor for the honor society's chapter at UCSB. PBS alumnus Dr. Michael Levine gave a talk both hilarious and helpful about finding one's way after graduation.  The groups also celebrated the success of the graduate mentorship program launched by Lauren Ortosky and Payton Small. Student leadership of both organizations expressed their appreciation of Dr. Woods, who established and has since mentored SUP, and Dr. Albada, who has rejuvenated Psi Chi this year, for their unflagging support and enthusiasm.  Because of  Vanessa and Nicole's efforts, more and more of our students are strengthening their identities as psychologists, connecting with the department, and relishing their experience as majors.
