Biography

Vinnie Wu received a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California, Irvine. In 2017, she started her Ph.D. in Social Psychology at UCSB to be co-advised by Diane Mackie and Shelly Gable. Vinnie has been awarded support from the Doctoral Scholars Fellowship and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Programs.

Research

My research investigates how emotions are regulated in intergroup and interpersonal contexts, particularly how people may influence their own and others' group emotions. I am also interested in the role of approach and avoidance motivational orientations on intergroup interactions, including its consequences for future interactions.
